Primal Trust
Small Group Mentorship

My intention is to provide structure, connection, and guidance that profoundly enhances your Primal Trust healing journey.

Members are loving the deep support, the consistent connection, and the exceptional value.

I hope you’ll join me for one or more of these 4-week groups. You deserve to feel supported!

Which group would be best for me right now?

Of course, there is no one perfect answer here. But here are some ways to feel into what would be most supportive for you.

If you are feeling stuck and resistant to using any tools, or just continually distracting or avoiding your brain retraining, then Easing into ABC will help you take a brand new approach to the Primal Trust tools. If you tend to find 1000 other things to do rather than your ABC, this group is for you! Participants report finally enjoying (and actually) doing the practices, instead of just “knowing they should”.

If you have had sadness or loss in your life that might have gone unaddressed, the Healing Grief group will very gently help you move some of that old stuck energy, without re-traumatizing. If you know you’ve had trauma but haven’t had the support to process it, this group will help you begin the process. Or, if you can’t really identify any trauma in your life, but you just feel generally stuck or “hardened”, this series could help you unlock some old hidden grief and give you more freedom and flow.

If you notice your critical mind is extremely active, or if you don't even know what it looks/feels like to be kind to yourself, consider the Self-compassion group.

If you find yourself getting stuck in your head, or using lots of tools but not feeling any changes, Nourishing Somatic Dance will likely be super helpful for you. You will get real-time, in-the-moment guidance for being in your body in the present moment. This will help you find a way around the overly thinking "mind" and be better able to receive the benefits of all the tools you're using. If you enjoy Friday BBNR classes with Candace, and you feel lighter and freer afterward, this group will help you start living more an more in that state of ease and flow.

All of these groups are similar in that they stem from Candace's embodied, compassionate, simplifying approach. Each round of each of these topics has brought new insights and perspectives, so no two are the same and it's impossible to say exactly what will evolve out of each unique group. I invite you to choose trust here. You can choose to trust (even if you have no "proof") that you will pick the right group(s) for you.

All of these series have some overlap with each other, and none of them is more important than the others. You are welcome to join different groups at different times in your journey, and you may always return to a favorite topic more than once. These are all fundamental aspects of healing and of making the most of your Primal Trust journey, and they all work together.

We don't recommend you choose a topic based on what you "should" be focusing on. See if you can feel into each topic and imagine which one would feel the most easeful and nourishing. If you really feel stuck on picking which one, try to feel into which day/time feels most supportive to you right now.

  • Self-Compassion

Do you find it hard to be kind to yourself? Have you spent years being your own toughest critic- pushing, striving, or caring for others- rarely pausing to offer yourself grace? You're not alone.

In this 4-week small group mentoring series, we'll embark on a gradual journey to rewire your brain and heart to embrace self-love for more sustainable self-regulation. Four 75-min sessions.

The next Self-Compassion group will likely start in late September. Dates & Times TBD.

    Healing Grief

In this small group series, we will explore grief in a very gentle way. We will approach grief from within the body as well as meet it in our heart and mind.

Grief is actually a powerful, nurturing, and healing process, if we allow ourselves to open up to its blessings.

In this 4-week small group mentoring series, we’ll gently move through this tender process, and you will likely experience some release as well as relief. Four 75-min sessions

The next Healing Grief group will likely start in October. Dates & Times TBD.

    Nourishing Somatic Dance

This gentle somatic dance series will calm and nourish your system. As you create a gentle familiarity with your body and its needs, you are creating powerful neural pathways of trust. This is profoundly calming to the nervous system, and lays the foundation for healing and growth.

We will use gentle music and simple, guided, pleasure-based movement. We will also have Q&A time. These personalized discussions about your somatic experience will help your mind relax and your body soften, so that you can receive the nourishment you deserve. Four 75-min sessions

The next Somatic Dance group will likely start in late September. Dates & Times TBD.

  • Easing into ABC's

Is your ABC practice feeling stressful? Are you avoiding it even though you know it’s good for you? (This is super common. I personally had SO much resistance.)

It’s true that the ABC practice is profoundly helpful for the nervous system. But it only helps us if we can bring ourselves to do it!

In this series, we’ll approach ABC’s in a very gentle way, so that it becomes an easy, delightful part of your day. You’ll receive personal mentoring within the group, and benefit from others’ questions and experiences as well.  Four 75-min sessions

The next ABC group will likely start in late September. Dates & Times TBD.

What members are saying about groups with Candace…

"I talked so much about your group! I just loved it. I definitely liked being in community. I loved hearing from other people. I think it's very beneficial, the whole thing- so helpful. And it's definitely a good value.”

~ Lauren

"The support of this group series was really, really great. It's so easy just to feel so isolated. To get in there and hear other people…. I realized, 'Hey, I'm not alone in this.’ Also, being able to hear other people and see other people's process... It was really, really helpful. I got out of it more than I expected, for sure."

~ Megan

"I thought the group was a fantastic value. It was the same amount of money for an hour a week for four weeks as I would pay for a 55 minute session with a one-on-one mentor. It was a really affordable way for me to get some more personalized attention and... kind of iron out things that I was struggling with. There's a lot of value in having classmates and listening to their experiences too. I got a lot of really good ideas and insight from the other people in the group.”

~ Shannon

"Oh my gosh, it was so amazing! That just changed my ABC, changed the way I look at it, and how I do it.  Wow, so powerful. It's been a huge shift. I look at it in such a different way.” (With the ABC practice…) I wasn't really getting out of it what I wanted to get out of it. It's almost a totally different exercise for me right now. This series  brought it so much more life. I truly believe that this is where my healing piece is.”
~ Lauren

“That felt really good when you were so encouraging. I found the baby steps to be really helpful. It felt so freeing to realize- if you do just this little bit, it counts. In the past, if I didn’t have a lot of time to practice, I would have been like, oh, I don't have time to do it. Now I'm like, nope, now I can do a short one and it's fine. It doesn't have to be so rigid.”
~ Megan

"Candace’s somatics classes have been one of the few times in my life that I have felt positive sensations in my body. After being guided in gentle movement, I feel a deep sense of relaxation, radiating warmth, and ease in my body. Candace's confidence, joy, and optimism are contagious, and her classes are empowering. She’s teaching me a new, exciting way to be in my body and move."
~ Carrie

"I've really been enjoying the sessions and getting connected to my body in a new way. I love having "permission" to prioritize self care! I'm sad that there's only one more session left!”
~ Mandy

FAQs

Are group sessions recorded?

The group sessions are not recorded. This provides a secure environment of privacy, so that members feel free to share anything vulnerable that will help them receive the support they need.

Live sessions also encourage everyone to gather each week. This consistency and co-regulation helps the nervous system feel safety and belonging. In the groups so far, there has been a lovely sense of camaraderie, which provides a deep layer of encouragement and support. 🫶🏼

Occasionally someone has a session they need to miss, and that’s totally ok. I send a follow-up email to the group after each session, which contains a few notes from the session as well as the weekly assignment. (Assignments are always small and simple, customizable, and very doable.)

With the pricing of groups being about 1/4 of the price per hour of 1:1, it’s still a great value even if you miss one.

If there’s a topic you like but the time doesn’t work, know that I’ll likely offer most of these topics regularly, and at slightly different days/times.

None of these days/times work for me.

I am doing my best to provide a variety of group topics at different times. I hope to offer at least one US evening option which takes place early morning Australia time. And at least one US morning option so that members in Europe can join.

Do I need to be an active member of Primal Trust?

Yes, small group series offered by Primal Trust mentors are solely for active Primal Trust members. This is one of the many benefits of maintaining your active PT membership. If you have paused or cancelled your membership, you’ll need to reactivate before joining a group.
